Dr. Melanye PriceDr. Melanye Price, Associate Professor of Africana Studies, completed her B.A. (Magna cum Laude) in geography with a political science minor at Prairie View A&M University in 1995 and her M.A. (1998) and PhD (2003) in political science with a specialty in the field of American politics at the Ohio State University.  She has research and teaching interests in public opinion, black politics, social movements and political psychology. Dr. Price is the author of Dreaming Blackness: Black Nationalism and African-American Public Opinion (New York University Press, 2006) and The Race Whisperer: Barack Obama and the Political Uses of Race (New York University Press, 2016).
