  • As a prelude to "Healing from Global Anti-Blackness" symposium, Insurgent Intersections will be hosting a screening of the documentary “You Think You Grown? Dismantling Adultification" by award-winning filmmaker Chanel Dupree. This documentary examines the pervasive adultification bias that forces Black girls to be seen and treated as more adult-like and less innocent than their peers, exploring how this bias manifests in media, education, and public policy—and how it impacts the lives of young Black girls.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with filmmaker Chanel DuPree in conversation with Rutgers Women’s Basketball Team Head Coach Coquese Washington, student-athlete Chyna Cornwell, historian Kiamsha Bynes, as well as Uju Nwanonyiri and Herrin Fontenette of DRC Global Village: Africana House. Pizza will be served. View the event flyer here.
